St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has scheduled an early restart of its diamond drilling program at the flagship high-grade Mt Alexander Project in the north-eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
The company’s drilling is targeting two priority seismic targets, S1 and S2, that have geophysical signatures consistent with that recorded for massive nickel-copper sulphides intersected at shallow depths at the Investigators Prospect.
Looking ahead, a diamond drill rig is scheduled to mobilise to Mt Alexander on or about January 6, 2022, at least three weeks earlier than initially expected.

Seismic targets
Recently acquired seismic data has been effective in defining the complex intrusive network in the area surveyed around the Cathedrals Belt.
The deep structures identified are indicative of a large mineral system with the potential to host significant volumes of mineralisation.
Notably, modelling and interpretation of the seismic data by independent seismic experts have resulted in the identification of two priority seismic targets for massive nickel-copper sulphides – S1 and S2.
S1 is down-dip from, and within the same structure that hosts extensive massive nickel-copper sulphides drilled at Investigators. S1 is modelled with a dip-extent of 450 metes at 800 metres below the surface.
S2, in the underexplored Transits Belt structure to the north of the Cathedrals Belt, is modelled with a dip-extent of 400 metres and located 350 metres below the surface.

Forward plan
A diamond drill rig is scheduled to mobilise to Mt Alexander in early January, at least three weeks earlier than initially expected.
Subsequently, the first two targets to be drilled will be S1 and S2, in that order.
Furthermore, additional targets will be added to the program subject to drill results and ongoing modelling of the seismic data.
