Antipa Minerals’ Wilki and Paterson farm-in exploration on track with gold at greenfield and brownfield sites

The company continues to review data from the 2021 drill hole and geophysical exploration, with the help of historical information, to identify further target areas for gold-copper mineralisation.

Antipa Minerals Ltd is pushing ahead on greenfield and brownfield targets at its Wilki farm-in project and Paterson farm-in project exploration programs, where Newcrest Operations Limited and IGO Ltd respectively are fully funding ongoing exploration activities.

The Wilki exploration program is fully funded by Newcrest as part of its $60 million farm-in.

The program emphasises both greenfield discovery - with a focus on the Havieron, Winu, Telfer and Nifty analogue targets within 10 to 50 kilometres of the Telfer gold-copper mine and processing facility - and brownfield gold and copper resource growth opportunities in the vicinity.

Following successful drill results, Newcrest has elected to proceed to the next ($10 million) stage of the farm-in agreement.

Highlights

Forty-three drill holes (7,422 metres), testing 12 greenfield and two brownfield targets, have uncovered intersections including:

  • 2.0 metres at 1.15 g/t gold from 146.0 metres down hole in 21CRC0002;
  • 7.0 metres at 1.29 g/t from 156.0 metres in 21CRC0002, including 3.0 metres at 2.70 g/t from 156 metres, also including 1-metre at 6.56 g/t gold and 0.11% copper from 156.0 metres;
  • 4.0 metres at 1.09 g/t gold and 0.17% copper from 211 metres in 21CRC0002;
  • 1-metre at 3.65 g/t from 138.0 metres in 21CRC0004;
  • 9.0 metres at 0.74 g/t from 82 metres in 21TDC0044, including 1-metre at 2.57 g/t from 83 metres.

Fixed‐loop ground electromagnetic (FLEM) surveys

A program of FLEM surveys - 15 FLEM loops, between 200 to 300 metres in size - was conducted over six greenfield targets. The aim was to identify bedrock massive sulphide-related electromagnetic conductivity anomalies.

A preliminary review of the FLEM data confirms geochemical anomalies and EM conductivity at the WEM-20 and Protos-9 targets and a newly identified target, WEM-44, with processing and modelling expected to continue into the new year.

Ongoing exploration activities

The company continues to review data from the 2021 drill hole and geophysical exploration, with the help of existing data, to identify further target areas for gold-copper mineralisation.

WA Government exploration grant

Antipa has secured $190,000 in funding from the WA Government's Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) for diamond core testing of a Havieron lookalike partially coincident magnetic and gravity target called Tetris.

The EIS funding is awarded to high-quality technical projects, assessed by a panel on the basis of geoscientific and exploration targeting merit.

Paterson IGO farm-in project

The Paterson exploration program has been fully funded by IGO Ltd as part of its $30 million farm-in.

Farm-in activities at Paterson form part of a regional or project scale staged exploration targeting greenfield sites Nifty, Winu, Telfer and Havieron.

The company awaits results from the regional stratigraphic and geochemical aircore drill program covering a 350 square kilometre area and drilling across 168 holes for 11,346 metres. It also looks forward to the results of the soil geochemical sampling program covering 650 square kilometres and 2,589 samples.

Antipa hopes to analyse the data from these programs in early 2022 so it can rank new greenfield exploration targets for direct drill testing.
