Bango PLC (AIM:BGO) has announced its agreement with Pray.com – the world’s leading app for daily prayer and faith-based media content.
The London-listed mobile payments and data specialist will expand its global customer base, while mobile phone users will be able to pay for access to the Pray.com premium experience using their mobile telephone account.
Pray.com, a Christian app where users have access to daily and nightly prayers as well as listening to the bible, saw subscriber numbers soar 22 times last year, as mental and spiritual wellness apps surged in popularity throughout the pandemic.
This placed the company in the top 10 grossing lifestyle apps in over 125 countries, whilst leading the way on the religious front.
Telcos using Bango’s platform to offer Pray.com to their customers will utilise Bango data insights technology to identify users most interested, which will help them target offers to raise its uptake and customer retention.
“Telcos and resellers can now add Pray.com as a complementary offer to the music, video, gaming, and other subscription services they offer through the Bango Platform,” said Brent McCray, director of business development at Bango.
Steve Gatena, chief executive at Pray.com said: "By leveraging Bango's technology and partnerships, Pray.com is able to increase access to people in markets with a high number of unbanked users, such as Africa, Asia, and Latin America."
