Empower Clinics Inc said it has partnered with Fobi AI (TSX-V:FOBI, OTCQB:FOBIF) Inc on a premier SMS integration system aimed at enhancing subsidiary Kai Medical Laboratory's existing coronavirus (COVID-19) testing infrastructure.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based healthcare company said it plans to implement the SMS system across its subsidiary network to simplify customer experiences and optimize business operations.
The newly developed system was specifically designed to augment Kai Labs’ COVID-19 testing efforts at the Gala Games Conference in Las Vegas, which was held from December 11 to 13, 2021. It utilized QR codes to provide a paperless registration process. Attendees then provided a cellphone number, which was subsequently used to conveniently relay their test results via SMS.

"The Gala Games conference was a phenomenal win that not only benefitted Kai but provided us with the opportunity to maximize existing partnerships," Empower chairman and CEO Steven McAuley said in a statement.
“Providing an SMS integration was the logical evolution to our Wallet Pass integration we launched with Fobi earlier this year. I'm confident this new integration will also have a positive impact on the patient experience through other divisions such The Medi-Collective and MediSure.”
The SMS also included follow-up instructions for the attendee to either receive their conference entrance wristband or proceed to secondary screening. The conveniently integrated program with direct message capabilities immensely streamlined the COVID-19 results process, Empower said.
Empower noted that Fobi's rapid development of the system and Kai's effective deployment at a significant event highlight the positive and mutually beneficial nature of its partnership with Fobi.
The company said Kai Labs will continue to use this system for future COVID-19 events and business testing contracts. It also plans to leverage the system across other subsidiaries such as The Medi-Collective and MediSure to streamline various business aspects, including but not limited to simplifying the patient check-in process, providing appointment and order reminders.
