Vango Mining confirms further gold intersections at Marymia Project

The results from current drilling plus historic results will be included in the Marymia Project resource upgrade in 2022.

Vango Mining Ltd (ASX:VAN) has confirmed further gold intersections at its flagship Marymia Gold Project in the Mid-West region of Western Australia.

The results from current drilling plus historic results will be included in the Marymia Project resource upgrade in 2022.

Pigeon open-pit drill results

The Pigeon pit was targeted with five drill holes in Vango’s ongoing open-pit focused resource extension program.

Results have been received for the first four holes and all returned gold intersections:

➢ 9 metres at 3 g/t gold from 111 metres in VPIRC0004 including 3 metres at 7.9 g/t from 114 metres;

➢ 2 metres at 1 g/t from 157 metres in VPIRC0004;

➢ 4 metres at 1.1 g/t from 134 metres in VPIRC0001;

➢ 2 metres at 2.2 g/t from 115 metres in VPIRC0002;

➢ 7 metres at 0.8 g/t from 124 metres in VPIRC0002; and

➢ 12 metres at 1 g/t from 121 metres in VPIRC0003.

These results show the continuity of a strong gold zone that broadly follows an interpreted mineralised structure, that follows the contact between sediments and mafic packages.

In addition to the positive results from the current drilling, there are multiple high-grade gold intersections from historic drilling below the current pit outline.

2021 drilling campaign progress

Vango is targeting 11 priority open-pits in its 2021 drilling campaign.

Drilling is designed to add resources to the substantial existing Marymia resource base and to deliver ‘critical mass’ to support a proposed standalone mining operation at the project.

The first phase of drilling in all 11 open pits has now been completed and consisted of 8,914 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling across 56 holes.

All results have now been reported from first-phase drilling at the Skyhawk, Parrot, Apollo, Prickleys, Ibis, Exocet and Rosella open-pits along with the first four holes from the Pigeon open-pit.

Results from drilling at the remaining three open-pits will be progressively released as they become available.

Next steps

Vango plans to conduct a follow-up, second phase of drilling at all targets that deliver positive results from the completed first round of drilling, to test for further extensions of gold mineralisation to add to the Marymia resource base.

The planned resource upgrade will be compiled by Dr Spero Carras and David Jenkins from Terra Search.
