Applied Graphene introduces new primers to the markets

The company says it is working closely with partners to demonstrate the performance benefits of graphene-based paints

Applied Graphene Materials PLC (AIM:AGM, OTCQX:APGMF) said it has launched a range of industrial anti-corrosion primers based on its own well-established Genable technology.

The producer of specialty graphene nanoplatelet (GNP) dispersions, the company has developed two new prototype hybrid paint systems to allow its customers to accelerate graphene adoption: an epoxy primer and a CX primer.

The Genable epoxy primer combines graphene with a zinc phosphate additive and is applicable in urban and industrial environments.

The Genable CX primer is based on graphene and aluminium chemistries and offers anti-corrosion protection for harsh environments, such as offshore and marine applications.

The company says it is working closely with partners such as the UK Environment Agency (EA) to demonstrate the performance benefits of graphene-based paints and coatings on a wider scale.

Adrian Potts, chief executive officer of Applied Graphene said, "We are pleased to be able to launch these two Genable primer products, which we anticipate will help further accelerate the adoption of graphene nanoplatelet technology with our coatings customers.”
