Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) chief executive officer Elon Musk is thinking of leaving his jobs and becoming an influencer, according to a tweet.
In a message on Twitter, Musk said he was "thinking of quitting my jobs & becoming an influencer full-time wdyt", asking his close to 66 million Twitter followers for their opinion.

It was not clear if Musk was being serious about stepping down from his roles.
In addition to running Tesla, Musk is the founder and CEO of rocket company SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp) and also leads brain-chip startup Neuralink and infrastructure firm The Boring Company.
During a conference call in January he said he expected to be the CEO of Tesla for "several years”. "It would be nice to have a bit more free time on my hands as opposed to just working day and night, from when I wake up to when I go to sleep 7 days a week. Pretty intense."
Last month, Musk asked his followers on Twitter to vote on whether he should sell 10% of his stake in Tesla. The majority agreed and Musk has since sold shares in the electric car maker worth nearly US$12bn.
Meanwhile, Musk also sold down more of his holding in Tesla, offloading 934,091 shares, according to regulatory filings, with the shares valued at $963.2mln.
This takes sales by the South African-born entrepreneur above US$12bn over the past month, following several other sales in November.

Much of the shares were sold to meet tax obligations on a previous exercise of stock options, CNBC added.
The EV manufacturer was also in the news amid more reports that Tesla is being sued by a female employee for the second time in a month for sexual harassment.
Reuters reported that there are now two lawsuits alleging a "hostile work environment" against women at Musk's car manufacturing company's gigafactory in Fremont, California.
Erica Cloud, a worker on the company's assembly line, accused defendants including her former manager of "continuous and pervasive" sexual harassment in a suit filed in California yesterday.
Tesla and some of its workers subjected her to "a hostile work environment stemming from animus towards her gender, sexual harassment," the lawsuit said.
On 18 November, female Tesla worker Jessica Barraza alleged rampant sexual harassment at the Fremont factory.
"The pervasive culture of sexual harassment, which includes a daily barrage of sexist language and behavior, including frequent groping on the factory floor, is known to supervisors and managers and often perpetrated by them," the lawsuit alleges.
