Aurion Resources (TSX-V:AU) Ltd has announced results from an additional six holes at the ongoing exploration program on its joint venture (JV) with B2Gold Corp in Finland’s Central Lapland Greenstone Belt, which intersected “significant” gold mineralization while extending the strike length of the recent Kutuvuoma-Ikkari (Helmi) discovery to 1.3 kilometres (km).
Drill results included 1.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 19.9 metres (m) from 89.3m depth.
“The Helmi discovery is already showing the potential to be a significant gold occurrence,” Aurion Resources (TSX-V:AU) CEO Matti Talikka said in a statement.

“The nine holes drilled in the program were the first-ever drilled in this area. Given the scant evidence available, we consider the success rate of this program to be exceptional,” Talikka added.
Aurion noted that it will retain a 30% interest in the joint venture and will begin funding its proportionate share of all exploration on the properties under its agreement with B2Gold.
It said that B2Gold has completed its fall 2021 drill program for a total of 5,201.5m of drilling in 20 holes, with assay results pending for 11 holes, or about 2,900m.
The company said the joint venture is currently in the process of planning the 2022 exploration program.
