Panthera Resources says drilling started at Bassala project after rig finished work at Kalaka

2,437 metres of air core drilling was completed in 94 drill holes at Kalaka

Panthera Resources PLC (AIM:PAT) said drilling has been completed at the Kalaka gold project in Mali and the rig has now started drilling at the Bassala gold project, also in Mali.

Five targets were tested at Kalaka and a further two were partially tested. The results are expected later this month.

The air core (AC) drill rig has now relocated to Bassala where it has started a 9,000-metre drilling programme. Drilling will test the remaining nine targets at Bassala in an area of intense artisanal workings and follow up significant results from 13 targets drilled in July 2021.

"The combination of shallow AC drilling targeting chargeability anomalies continues to be an excellent targeting tool at our West African projects, with strong alteration intersected at all targets tested by the recent Kalaka programme,” said managing director Mark Bolton.
