Thor Mining PLC (AIM:THR, OTCQB:THORF, ASX:THR) told investors a tracer test and in-situ lixiviant trials have commenced at the Kapunda Copper ISR Project in South Australia to help determine potential recoveries.
EnviroCopper Ltd, a vehicle 30% owned by Thor, completed the installation of test well arrays and has commenced in-situ recovery trials, the company said in a statement.
The purpose of lixiviant trials (otherwise known as 'push pull’ tests) is to assess the solubility of copper mineralisation and therefore copper recovery, Thor added.
"These in-situ lixiviant trials are a critical step in the assessment of the ISR process in determining the copper solubility hence recovery from the Kapunda copper mineralisation,” said Thor managing director Nicole Galloway Warland.
“This is a significant milestone for the Kapunda ISR Project, which Thor is delighted to be a part of.”
Thor said it expects the trails will last for three to four weeks.
