Bango PLC (AIM:BGO) agreed a strategic partnership with a Nasdaq-listed mobile media specialist to offer app developers more secure payment options for their end users.
The AIM-listed company said the multi-year, global agreement with Digital Turbine Inc (NASDAQ:APPS) commercially launches in the first quarter of next year.
Digital Turbine is the developer of the Ignite platform, which is integrated into more than 750mln smartphones and other devices to allow users to find apps and other content, used by 40 operators and phone manufacturers, and 50,000 app developers.
Digital Turbine said the partnership will drive better user experiences and greater revenue opportunities for all its partners, opening up in-app payments through direct carrier billing and unlock new revenue streams for mobile carriers.
Paul Larbey, Bango’s chief executive, said: "As Bango merchants look for better ways to reach more customers, this partnership with Digital Turbine opens new doors.
“Adding Bango Payments to the Ignite On-Device Platform provides a compelling way for digital merchants, carriers and OEM partners to collaborate, so that apps can be merchandised and monetized directly with consumers.”
