Carbon Air confirms its intention to float in London

The carbon technology company is reportedly hoping to trade by the end of the month

Carbon Air Group PLC, a carbon nanotechnology company, has confirmed its intention to float in London on the AIM market later this month.

Based in Manchester, the company has developed materials that use the adsorption properties of activated carbon and other advanced materials to improve suspension systems, enhance acoustics or reduce noise.

The company was founded by chief technology officer John Coakley, a former journalist, while he was serving as technology transfer officer at the University of Salford.

“By packing air molecules more closely, Carbon Air's technology can effectively store air from the pressure field, creating up to six times more air volume, and in turn improve performance.”

The technology has allowed it to develop a portfolio of solutions for a variety of end markets, including vehicle suspension systems, acoustic insulation for domestic appliances and micro-speakers for smartphones.

Since its inception in 2013, its main focus has been primarily on cars, commercial vehicles, motorbikes and mountain bikes.

For the listing, Carbon Air did not announce how much money it intends to raise, nor its expected market cap.
