Alto Metals identifies new mineralised horizon at Sandstone Gold Project with high-grade Vanguard hits up to 24 metres at 3.5 g/t

“Our systematic approach is continuing to deliver and we are looking forward to recommencing our aggressive drilling program early in the new year," says MD.

Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) (Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME)) has highlighted the growth potential of Vanguard Camp with high-grade intercepts defining a new mineralised horizon within the Sandstone Gold Project in the East Murchison Mineral Field of Western Australia.

A systematic reverse circulation (RC) drilling program is being carried out at multiple regional targets as Alto’s exploration strategy remains focused on discoveries and resources growth, targeting mineral extensions and greenfield discoveries across the entire Sandstone Gold Project.

Reverse circulation (RC) drilling spaced at 40-metre intervals across the Vanguard Camp, which includes multiple mineralised trends and a JORC mineral resource of 50,000 ounces at 1.8 g/t gold, returned high-grade intercepts outside the defined resource, including:

  • 24 metres at 3.5 g/t gold from 132 metres to the end of hole, including 2 metres at 11.7 g/t from 141 metres and 2 metres at 18.6 g/t from 154 metres to end of hole in SRC495;
  • 4 metres at 2.7 g/t from 38 metres and 17 metres at 1.6 g/t from 117 metres, including 1-metre at 11.6 g/t from 128 metres in SRC504.

Together with another hole drilled 40 metres to the southeast (SRC272) which returned 30 metres at 1.9 g/t, Alto Metals believes these assay results have confirmed the presence of a new mineralised horizon which remains open along strike and down dip.

Systemic approach continuing to deliver

Alto Metals managing director Matthew Bowles said: “Our drilling continues to highlight the growth potential at the Vanguard Camp.

“Following the latest high-grade gold results recently announced from Vanguard North, it is equally exciting to see a standout intercept of 24 metres at 3.5 g/t gold in SRC495, together with the 30 metres at 1.9 g/t from SRC272, highlights the presence of a new gold horizon at Vanguard, 100 metres east of the main deposit.

“Mineralisation at the Vanguard Camp is within two parallel trends, defined so far, along a 2-kilometre strike length with high-grade gold in multiple drill holes outside the current resource.

“Our systematic approach is continuing to deliver and we are looking forward to recommencing our aggressive drilling program early in the new year.

“With assays still pending for over 50 RC holes, we expect continued news flow over the coming weeks and our updated mineral resource is on track for release during next quarter.”

New results from RC drilling at the Tiger Moth prospect – which forms part of the Indomitable Camp about 15 kilometres to the west of the Lords Corridor – have returned strong intercepts, including:

  • 11 metres at 1.2 g/t gold from 77 metres in SRC362; and
  • 9 metres at 2.2 g/t from 153 metres, including 2 metres at 8.3 g/t from 153 metres in SRC363.

Mineral resource update

Assays remain pending for more than 50 RC holes, mainly from Lord Henry, Vanguard and Indomitable.

Planning is underway for the next major drill program, expected to start in early February, following completion of planned geophysical work scheduled to commence in January.

Upcoming assay results expected to be received over the coming months include:

  • RC results from Lord Henry – infill and extensional;
  • RC results from Vanguard and Indomitable – extensional; and
  • RC results from other regional Alpha Domain prospects (including Havilah, Maninga Marley).

Additionally, Alto says work on the updated mineral resource estimate for Lord Nelson, Lord Henry and Vanguard is progressing well and is on track to be released in the March quarter of 2022, subject to the receipt of pending assays.
