Aftermath Silver (TSX-V:AAG) Ltd said it has started a new drill campaign at its Berenguela project in southern Peru.
The company plans to sink up to 6,000 metres into the silver-copper-manganese property as part of its Phase I program, according to a statement.
Phase I is designed to collect samples in specific areas of the deposit to generate three metallurgical composites, and sink HQ-diameter diamond core holes for resource conversion and confirmation drilling.

AK Drilling out of Lima will run the program. A single rig is currently active at the property, with plans to add a second rig in the new year.
Aftermath said that samples will be shipped to Australia, where an ongoing metallurgical program is currently completing pre-concentration magnetic separation test work on low and medium-grade composites made from existing core.
"Having completed the necessary permitting and planning work, we can now focus on drilling,” Aftermath CEO Ralph Rushton told shareholders in a statement.
“As we move ahead and unlock value our goal will be to demonstrate that Berenguela is one of the premier silver deposits in the Americas.”
Vancouver-based Aftermath also said that it has brought on Victor Grande as its vice president business sustainability and community relations.
Grande is a Peruvian community relations specialist with more than 20 years of experience working on oil, gas, mining and infrastructure projects. He previously worked as a senior social development specialist with the World Bank in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.
Aftermath told investors that Grande has “extensive field experience in socially sensitive environments working with indigenous peoples in the Amazon and communities in the Andes.”
Separately, Aftermath also said it had granted 450,000 stock options to consultants at a price of $0.65 for a five-year period.
