Aldoro Resources set for drilling at Niobe Project after securing heritage clearance with traditional owners

The company is cleared to move ahead with its 66 hole drilling program targeting pegmatites, with rock chip samples indicating rubidium and lithium mineralisation.

Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) expects to move ahead with a drilling program later this week targeting pegmatites at the Niobe Project in Western Australia’s Mt Magnet region.

This follows a Heritage Site Avoidance Survey with the Traditional Wajarri Owners, which has cleared the planned drill sites, making way for drilling to start on December 10.

A reverse circulation (RC) drill rig will arrive on-site this week, and 66 drill holes are planned over Niobe East, Breakaway and Niobe Southeast.

Rock chip sampling

Drilling will start on Niobe East pegmatite system, with the aim of increasing the exploration target. The company’s expectations are buoyed by limited historical drilling and recent rock chip sampling results.

Rock chip sampling indicates that the Niobe East anomalous rubidium and lithium values extend over 400 metres in strike length, which justifies the proposed drilling program into this multilayered pegmatite section.

The company also plans to drill at the Breakaway and Niobe Southeast pegmatites, where historical drilling has not tested for the presence of the two minerals.

Rock chip sampling at the Breakaway pegmatites, to the west, has confirmed anomalous rubidium and lithium deposits extending over a strike length of 100 metres, while at Niobe Southeast, the few samples collected have anomalous rubidium values.

Aldoro has previously identified an exploration target of up to 150,000 tonnes at the Main Pegmatite, with grades ranging from 696-1457ppm rubidium oxide (Rb2O).
