Sensyne partners with Cambridge University Hospitals in cancer and other reserach

The partnership will cover research across the Trust's areas of disease expertise and specialism in cancer

Sensyne Health plc, the clinical artificial intelligence (AI) company, has signed a five-year, non-exclusive strategic research agreement with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH).

As part of the agreement, Sensyne and CUH will focus on several areas of research, with cancer will be a key focus for the partnership.

Sensyne said it will use its expertise to analyse cancer patient pathways to reduce patient waiting times and improve patient care.

The new agreement covers 3mln patient records and brings the combined total of de-identified patient data directly accessible by Sensyne for medical research to 25.5mln patients

There will be an emphasis on studying clinical decision tools to support patient care, as well as the use of AI for the analysis of retrospective clinical data.

Drug discovery is also part of the partnership in treatment areas such as cardiovascular and rare diseases as well as cancer

Lord Drayson, Sensyne’s chief executive, said: “Together we aim to use the power of ethical AI to make a real difference in finding new and better ways to treat cancer and other complex diseases."
