Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)'s chief executive Elon Musk sold a further 934,091 shares in the electric car maker worth US$1.01bn after exercising options on 2.1 million shares, according to regulatory filings.
Musk, the richest person in the world, last month tweeted that he would sell 10% of his shares in Tesla if his Twitter followers approved. A majority voted in favour of the sale.
Since then, Musk has exercised options to buy 10.7 million shares and sold 10.1 million shares for US$10.9bn.
He still has an option to buy about 10 million more shares at US$6.24 each, which expires in August next year.
