Vango Mining Ltd (ASX:VAN) has returned further encouraging gold intersections from ongoing drilling at depth at Rosella Open-Pit within the Marymia Gold Project in Western Australia's Mid-West with the potential to expand and upgrade the 1-million-ounce resource.
The results received from the remaining holes at Rosella confirm the continuity of the gold structure at depth across the open-pit footprint and include:
- 2 metres at 1.2 g/t gold from 89 metres;
- 1-metre at 2.2 g/t from 50 metres; and
- 3 metres at 2.6 g/t from 101 metres, including 1-metre at 6.7 g/t from 102 metres.
Importantly, drilling is designed to add resources to the substantial existing Marymia resource base and to deliver ‘critical mass’ to Marymia’s resource base to support a proposed standalone mining operation at the project.
Drilling results
The gold mineralisation at Rosella is well defined along with a moderate northwest dipping structure within mafics and near the contact with sediments in places.
Vango’s drilling program has confirmed the continuity of gold mineralisation below the Rosella pit and other results include:
- 1-metre at 4.0 g/t gold from 54 metres;
- 3 metres at 10.0 g/t from 80 metres, including 1-metre at 27.0 g/t from 80 metres;
- 3 metres at 2.6 g/t from 101 metres, including 1-metre at 6.7 g/t from 102 metres;
- 11 metres at 4 g/t from 83 metres, including 6 metres at 6.6 g/t from 85 metres.
Notably, these results will be reviewed to establish the likelihood of economic resources being defined in the area with further drilling to be completed if warranted.

Forward plan
At the outset, Vango is targeting 11 priority open-pits in its 2021 drilling campaign.
The first phase of drilling in all 11 open pits has been completed and consisted of 8,914 metres of RC drilling across 56 holes.
All results have been reported from first-phase drilling at the Skyhawk, Parrot, Apollo, Prickleys, Ibis, Exocet and Rosella open pits.
In addition, results from drilling at the remaining four open-pits will be progressively released as they become available.
Furthermore, Vango plans to conduct a follow-up, second phase of drilling at all targets that deliver positive results from the completed first round of drilling, to test for further extensions of gold mineralisation to add to the Marymia resource base.
