Cardano (ADA) was one of few top 20 cryptos moving higher on Thursday, up around 5% at US$1.70, whilst Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) remained on the back foot.
Bitcoin was down 2.6% at US$56,655 whilst Ethereum was 3.5% lower despite Wednesday’s stronger showing.
Outgoing Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey shaking things up at his other company, Square inc (NYSE:SQ) (Square inc (NYSE:SQ)), which will not be relaunched with crypto vigour under the new name of ‘Block’. Square is retaining its merchant point-of-sale payments business, which is used widely across SMEs, though that company will be just one piece of a group with a definite strategy focussed on blockchain, decentralised finance and cryptocurrency.
