Kootenay Silver Inc has unveiled encouraging new drill results from its Copalito precious metals project in Sinaloa.
Drilling returned “excellent” grades, according to Kootenay, with intervals grading as high as 1,300 grams per ton (g/t) silver and 21 g/t gold, as well as 27% combined lead plus zinc.
The holes were drilled on the Agua, 5 Senores and Chiva veins, which Kootenay said are “consistently anomalous” in silver, gold, lead and zinc over four kilometres strike in six different veins.

The company added that it sees several areas were the grade and width has potential for mineralized shoots and resource definition, and the potential for “substantial resources.”
"The large strike continuity of the veins and mineralization indicate to us Copalito has good potential for the discovery of a large resource,” Kootenay CEO James MacDonald said in a statement. “Also impressive are the high gold, lead and zinc grades in numerous holes that add to this potential."
Kootenay has drilled 81 holes for 8,012 metres in the 2020 and 2021 drilling programs at Copalito, which is located 35 kilometers east of McEwen Mining's El Gallo mine in Sinaloa state.
Other highlights from the drill results include 276 g/t silver equivalent over 23 metres at the Agua vein, 289.62 g/t silver equivalent over 1.4 metres at the Senores vein, and 1,364.03 g/t silver equivalent at the Chiva vein.
Detailed mapping and compilation and interpretation of drill results is in progress to help design the next drill program, Kootenay told investors.
A geophysical IP survey is also being considered as some veins with high base metals contain sufficient sulfides that IP may be able to identify mineralized bodies, it added.
Kootenay Silver is actively engaged in the discovery and development of mineral projects in the Sierra Madre Region of Mexico and in British Columbia, Canada.
