Miramar Resources outlines supergene gold over large footprint at Glandore

“Our first-pass lake drilling has outlined coherent supergene gold anomalism within multiple targets over almost five kilometres of strike, which is a considerable proportion of the entire project area,” says executive chair.

Miramar Resources Ltd (ASX:M2R) has defined almost 5 kilometres of shallow, coherent supergene gold anomalism across multiple targets during aircore drilling at its wholly-owned Glandore Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.

Drilling targeted the southern and western margins of an interpreted granodiorite pluton which intrudes into a layered mafic sill.

High-grade mineralisation up to 6 metres at 29 g/t gold has previously been intersected in shallow diamond drilling on the eastern side of the granodiorite at the Glandore East target.

Recent drilling has extended the Glandore East footprint to the south by at least 1 kilometre, with multiple holes returning or ending in results of more than 0.25 g/t gold including GDAC037 which intersected 6 metres at 0.62 g/t from 12 metres and ended in 2 metres at 1.04 g/t.

GDAC061 intersected 4 metres at 0.46 g/t and 4 metres at 0.61 g/t. The Glandore East footprint now extends for over 3 kilometres towards historic gold workings and remains open.

“Results indicate significant potential”

Miramar Resources executive chair Allan Kelly said the recent lake drilling had identified a very substantial gold system at Glandore and greatly increased the potential for the discovery of gold mineralisation including that like the nearby Majestic and Trojan deposits.

“Our first-pass lake drilling has outlined coherent supergene gold anomalism within multiple targets over almost five kilometres of strike, which is a considerable proportion of the entire project area,” Kelly said.

“Today’s results indicate the presence for multiple NE-trending mineralised structures within the granodiorite pluton extending over a significant strike length, along with coherent gold mineralisation across several other targets which will need to be followed up early in the new year.

“Gold mineralisation at Majestic and Trojan is also hosted in NE-striking structures within granitic intrusions, so our recent results indicate significant potential for a similar discovery at Glandore.”

Multiple new targets have now been outlined, including potential Majestic-style mineralisation as noted by Miramar’s executive chair. The company is already planning follow-up aircore and diamond drilling campaigns for 2022.
