Aurelius Minerals intersects high-grade gold at its Aureus East project in Nova Scotia

Results from two drill holes intersected multiple gold zones that included 34.1 grams per tonne gold over 0.8 meters

Aurelius Minerals Inc (TSX-V:AUL, OTCQB:AURQF) has announced results from two drill holes, AE-21-033 and AE-21-037, at its flagship Aureus East gold project in Nova Scotia, which intersected multiple gold zones, including 34.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 0.8 meters (m).

The company said it is drilling at Aureus East Project to define a new gold mineral resource and continue expanding upon the successes of the Phase 1 and initial Phase 2 program results.

“We are pleased with today's drill results and the overall success of our campaign to date as we continue to demonstrate the high-grade nature and continuity of our flagship Aureus East Gold Project,” Aurelius Minerals CEO Mark Ashcroft said in a statement.

“Our understanding of the geology continues to evolve with every drill hole, as does the potential to significantly increase our highly anticipated updated resource statement,” Ashcroft added.

Aurelius noted that both holes were extended and hit gold zones beyond their planned depths.

It added that Phase 2 drilling at Aureus East, which involved sinking 30 holes over a total of 12,821m, is now complete and interpretation of the results will be included in an upcoming resource statement that will be released in the first quarter of 2022.

The company also reported that its near-term focus has shifted to an underground sampling campaign that it began recently, as it believes there is considerable opportunity to identify continuous mineralization directly adjacent to the existing underground development infrastructure.

Aurelius Minerals is focused on advancing its renamed Aureus gold properties, including Aureus East and West, the Tangier gold project, and the Forest Hill gold project in Nova Scotia.

It is also advancing two district-scale gold projects in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt in Ontario. These are the 968-hectare Mikwam property and the 12,425-hectare Lipton property on the Lower Detour Trend.
