Northcoders Group PLC (AIM:CODE), a provider of training programmes for software coding, said it has signed a contract to open a new training hub in Newcastle.
Located in the TusPark ‘innovation hub’, the new centre is part of the group’s national expansion strategy that it set out when it listed in London in July.
The company said the site is intentionally smaller than its existing centres in Manchester and Leeds, with the hope this will better accommodate the flexibility of hybrid teaching both online and in person.
Launch of the hub was brought forward by the company, citing an “increase in demand for technology training and upskilling in the local area”.
Further acquisition of new training centres is planned, with Birmingham, Liverpool, and Sheffield targeted areas.
Chief executive officer Chris Hill said: "This is exactly the kind of initiative that will ensure greater access to education and technology training in the UK whilst also demonstrating how Northcoders is able to accelerate its growth to meet local demand and is delivering on its strategy as set out at IPO."
