Tamboran Resources Ltd has appointed three executives to its management team to help fast-track plans for the Beetaloo Sub-basin in the Northern Territory.
The executives’ skills range across operations, investment and the law: Dr David Close takes his place as vice president - Operations and External Affairs, Chris Morbey will assume the role of vice president - Investor Relations, while Petra Fagerstrom has been appointed general counsel.
“Each of these appointments brings a unique skill set and considerable energy experience to deliver our strategy of being the first to commercialise the core area of the Beetaloo Sub-basin in the Northern Territory,” Tamboran Resources managing director and CEO Joel Riddle said.
Bases covered
David Close brings more than 20 years in the energy sector – most recently as general manager of Onshore New Ventures with Santos Limited – and a PhD in geology from Oxford University.
He has extensive experience in North America and Australia, including nearly a decade in the Beetaloo Sub-basin, where he led both Santos’ and Origin’s exploration programs.
Chris Morbey has a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of New South Wales. He joins Tamboran from Beach Energy Ltd, where he served as the head of Investor Relations.
His priors include investor relations at Oil Search Limited, equity research at Macquarie Bank and business development at Drillsearch Energy Limited.
Petra Fagerstrom brings a Master of International and Energy Law and more than 20 years of international legal experience to Tamboran.
She has served in senior legal roles for Alinta Energy Limited, AWE, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company and Halliburton.

Shares have been as much as 3.9% higher this morning to A$0.405, approaching last week's new record high of A$0.42 while the company's market cap was approximately A$201.6 million before opening.
