Mountain Boy Minerals Ltd (TSX-V:MTB, OTCQB:MBYMF) has revealed positive new drill results from the BA project in the highly prosperous Golden Triangle region of British Columbia.
Drilling intersected 7.67 metres of 4.26% zinc equivalent and 1.09 metres of 468 grams per ton (g/t) gold, according to the Vancouver-based company.
Mountain Boy told shareholders that drilling is defining a near-surface mineralized system traced across 700 metres that remains open down dip and along strike.

In addition to nearly 650 metres of drilling across four holes, the company is currently mapping, prospecting and channel sampling within the 12-kilometre prospective horizon.
Mountain Boy CEO Lawrence Roulston said that the firm is “very encouraged” by the results, adding that they demonstrate that the portion of the system that was previously drilled remains open both laterally and to depth.
“Our recent geological work is helping us vector toward higher grades within the overall system,” Roulston added in a statement. “The zone drilled to date represents just 700 metres of the prospective horizon that extends for at least 12 kilometres on the BA property. The mineralization is close to surface and in a favourable location relative to infrastructure."
Mapping, prospecting and talus fines sampling resulted in the discovery of three new mineralized areas, the company said, with assay results of the three new showings pending.
Collaboration agreement
Mountain Boy also said that it had entered into an agreement with the Mineral Deposit Research Unit at the University of British Columbia to sponsor a Masters candidate to study the prospective VMS (volcanic massive sulphide) horizon on the BA property and help further understanding of the “complex systems” in the Golden Triangle region.
The research will collaborate closely with the British Columbia Geological Survey (BCGS) to link their current regional-scale mapping efforts in the Golden Triangle with the deposit and property-scale observations from this project, the company added.
“There are numerous identified zones within this horizon, including the George Copper, Barbara, Nelson, the historic Goat mine, the Ataman as well as the newly discovered showings,” Lucia Theny, Mountain Boy’s vice president of exploration said in a statement.
“We continue to make discoveries and are making solid progress on understanding this extensive geological system. We are proud to be sponsoring the MDRU project and believe that a strong exploration team combined with meaningful scientific research will lead to exploration success for the company," he added.
