Directa Plus PLC (AIM:DCTA, OTC:DTPKF) has won a project tender from the state of Lombardy's TECH FAST programme for accelerating innovation processes by Lombardy based companies.
The project will last for 12 months and has a total value of €294,058, of which 50% is non-refundable, the AIM-listed graphene specialist said.
The project, entitled “GRAYFLTRER: Eco-innovation for antibacterial and antiviral industrial filtration using graphene-enhanced filters'”, will commence immediately and will see Directa Plus develop applications for G+ graphene in industrial filtration, such as for air-conditioning or transportation filters, which have antibacterial and antiviral properties. The process will include making the G+ filters sanitary using infrared radiation or electrical heating.
"This project will fund us to develop specific applications of our technology for industrial filtration markets, building on the work we have already done to launch our range of anti-viral and anti-bacterial face masks and filters. Industrial filtration could be an important new market for our sustainably produced products,” said Giulio Cesareo, the founder and chief executive officer of Directa Plus.
