Tlou Energy excited as key projects advance

The Botswana focussed company holds its AGM on Wednesday.

Tlou Energy Limited (AIM:TLOU, ASX:TOU, BSE:TLOU) told investors it has hit a number of significant milestones in the past year, as it released a statement alongside today’s AGM.

It expects these milestones bring the company closer to its goal of delivering ‘the first CBM project in Botswana to move into production’.

The Lesedi project is presently the company’s most advanced project, intended to be a 10MW gas-fired and solar operation, and, at the same time the company is advancing other ventures, in its new clean energy strategy.

Tlou recently inked an agreement to partner Synergen Met, a specialist in hydrogen technology, for a project that would potentially see the construction and commissioning of a hydrogen and solid carbon prototype plant at Lesedi.

The company noted that Synergen Met has a first-generation working prototype which has has produced hydrogen and NaCN (Sodium Cyanide) for commercial applications, and design work is underway to modify the unit to produce hydrogen and solid carbon using Tlou's existing gas flows.

It is expected that the prototype will be constructed and tested in Queensland prior to transportation to Tlou's Lesedi project in the first half of 2022.

“It is exciting to see the contribution that Tlou has already made to the region, and with its projects continuing to develop, it looks set to continue its work towards providing sustainable and secure energy solutions to Botswana and southern Africa,” Tlou said in its statement.
