Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) has completed a rock chip sampling program at the Windimurra Igneous Complex in Western Australia, receiving assays from Niobe East, Niobe Southeast and Breakaway pegmatites that confirm rubidium and lithium extensions beyond the Niobe Main Pit.
The average rubidium value was 1,892 parts per million (ppm) with a range of 34.7 to 9,307 ppm, while the average lithium value was 0.0725% with a range of 0.005 to 0.40%. caesium averaged at 200 ppm with a range of 3.1 to 1,934 ppm.
At Niobe East, assays returned anomalous lithium and rubidium values extending over 400 metres in strike length, supporting Aldoro’s proposed drilling program for this multilayered pegmatite section.
At Breakaway to the west, anomalous rubidium and lithium pegmatites stretch over a strike length of 100 metres, while at Niobe Southeast the few samples collected peaked at 0.2% rubidium.
Investors appear to have welcomed the news of further mineralisation, lifting ARN's share price to as high as $0.505 intraday, an 8.6% increase.
Proven potential
Aldoro Resources chair Joshua Letcher commented that “the rock chip results show the potential for the area and give confidence for increasing the exploration target tonnage”.
The outcrop dispersion of rubidium and lithium results are generally consistent with historical sampling undertaken by previous owners Pancontinental in the mid-1980s, giving Aldoro confidence in the historical drilling assays of the same period, which were used to define an exploration target over the Niobe Main pegmatite.
A conceptual exploration target of approximately 33,000-150,000 tonnes at grades ranging 696-1457 ppm rubidium oxide over an area bound by 80 metres by 65 metres of detailed drilling had been previously defined at the site.
Forward plan
Aldoro intends to expand the exploration target area to encompass the mapped pegmatite on the western side of Niobe, the highest interest rubidium bearing sections of Niobe East, the Breakaway pegmatites and Niobe Southeast pegmatites.
Approval for a program of works (POW) was received by Aldoro on November 17, 2021, and negotiations are underway with Wajarri PBC for a Heritage Survey over the area.
An RC drill rig is booked and awaiting mobilisation once the Heritage Survey is complete.
About Aldoro Resources
Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) is an ASX-listed mineral exploration and development company. It has a collection of nickel and lithium/rubidium focused advanced exploration projects all in Western Australia.
The company’s flagship project is the Narndee Igneous Complex, highly prospective for nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation.
Aldoro is also exploring the Windimurra Igneous Complex where it has located numerous pegmatites, several of which have been identified as containing anomalous rubidium and lithium minerals.
