Lift Global Ventures PLC, a financial media company led by stock market commentator Zak Mir, has announced plans to list on London's Aquis Stock Exchange before the end of the year.
The company plans to raise around £1.7mln before expenses at the price of 3p through corporate adviser and broker Novum Securities, which should value it at roughly £2.7mln.
Lift said its strategy is to build a portfolio of complementary businesses operating within the financial media and related technology sectors, such as financial news websites, investment research providers, financial PR, investment relations, design and marketing agencies, production studios and visual content providers, and technology platforms connected with capital raising and/or lending.
Mir, who was a derivatives broker in the 1990s for Sucden and what became Man Group (LSE:EMG), turned his technical analyst knowledge to journalism at the Investors Chronicle, Shares Magazine and the Spectator.
On the board, CEO Mir is paired with non-executive chairman Paul Gazzard, who may be familiar to investors at Ila Group, Amur Minerals and Dukemount Capital, and executive director Tim Daniel, a former investment analyst at ILEX Asset Management and chief financial officer of AIM-listed Equatorial Palm Oil.
The directors said their aim is "to leverage its vast sector experience and extensive network of contacts to not only identify compelling acquisition and investment opportunities but also to advise and add value to portfolio companies on an ongoing basis".
