SoLVBL Solutions Inc. (CSE:SOLV) said that Kaiser Akbar has been appointed interim CEO and President of the cyber-security company, replacing Raymond Pomroy.
The Toronto, Ontario-based company thanked former CEO Pomroy for his contribution and his distinguished 50-year career, while wishing him “all the best in his future endeavors.”
Akbar has a broad background in law, public markets, and corporate financing. His focus is on early-stage venture companies with potential for high growth and value creation, said the company. He has been on the board of a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, and on the board and management of several private companies.

More recently, Akbar was the Senior VP, General Counsel and Director of Simcoe Renewable Energy Corp., a private renewable energy company. Between 2010 and 2016, Akbar was the President of Advent Chemical Corp., a chemical manufacturing start-up. He has an undergraduate and Master's degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba, and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1997.
The company said its board has undertaken a formal search and an appointment is expected to be announced “within calendar first quarter 2022.”
