Fireweed Zinc Ltd (TSX-V:FWZ) has released new drill results from its Macmillan Pass project in Yukon that showcase the growth potential at the Boundary Zone.
Highlights from the results include a new, copper-rich style of mineralization grading 1.54% copper, 5.42% zinc, 0.04% lead and 5.6 grams per ton (g/t) silver over 2 metres.
The step-out hole also intersected a wide zone of vein-hosted mineralization grading 2.35% zinc, 0.01% lead, and 4.6 g/t silver over 203 metres, which extends the mineralized zone at depth, according to Fireweed.

CEO Brandon Macdonald called the results “intriguing,” telling shareholders that the intersections show a new style of copper mineralization.
“This is an encouraging sign of the system becoming hotter as we continue to expand the known zone of mineralization with more and more step-outs,” Macdonald said in a statement. “This is the first discovery of meaningful copper grades in core at the Macmillan Pass project and we are excited to follow up on this new style of copper-zinc mineralization in the coming drill programs."
Fireweed is advancing the district-scale 940-square kilometre Macmillan Pass project in Yukon, which is host to the 100% owned Tom and Jason zinc-lead-silver deposits with current mineral resources and a preliminary economic assessment.
The firm believes that the Boundary Zone, Tom North Zone and End Zone have significant zinc-lead-silver mineralization thanks to drill results, but are not yet classified as mineral resources.
The project also includes large blocks of adjacent claims that cover exploration targets in the district where previous and recent work identified zinc, lead and silver prospects, and geophysical and geochemical anomalies in prospective host geology.
