MedX Health Corp has announced an inaugural clinical trial of its leading-edge DermSecure Screening Platform at three university hospitals across Turkey in early 2022.
Through its recently announced distribution agreement with Makromed/Arhan Global AŞ, MedX’s flagship DermSecure Screening Platform will be used in a clinical trial overseen by noted Turkish dermatologist Dr Emel Erdal Çalikoğlua, who is the Professor of Dermatology at Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir, Turkey.
The clinical trial will also include Kocaeli University, led by Professor of Dermatology Dr Dilek Bayramgürler, as well as Bursa Uludağ University, led by Professor of Dermatology Dr Emel Bülbül Başkan and Associate Professor Dr Serkan Yazici.

The Mississauga, Ontario-based medical device and software company focused on skin health, said the clinical trial will run for six months and involve nearly 300 patients in Turkey. After its completion, MedX and its distribution partner Makromed/Arhan Global AŞ, expect the technology to become more widely available in clinics, pharmacies and insurance companies across Turkey.
MedX said the study builds on its existing European commercialization pilots in the Netherlands and Italy, as part of the company’s global commercialization strategy. Additional commercialization pilots are anticipated in the coming months, added MedX.

MedX’s novel DermSecure Screening Platform features high-resolution image capture technology for moles, lesions and other skin conditions; providing a complete, virtual dermatological assessment by a certified dermatologist within 72 hours.
The Canada-based company has developed the SIAscope — the only image-capture technology on the market that provides clinical, dermoscopic, and spectrophotometric views of moles and lesions up to 2 millimeters (mm) below the skin's surface.
MedX's device can capture perfect clinical images with 100% image integrity, which makes it ideal for dermatologists wanting to integrate teledermatology into their practices. Additionally, the company has rolled out DermSecure — its secure, cloud-based telemedicine platform and patient management system to provide a complete end-to-end solution for dermatologists.
