Zinc8 Energy Solutions (CSE:ZAIR) Inc revealed that an experienced executive, who has focused on capital markets and the renewable energy sector, has been appointed to its board of directors.
Tom Hodgson is the chairman of Greenbrook Capital Partners Inc, a strategic advisory firm focused on investing in promising early-stage companies involved in clean energy, and was CEO of Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:LAC, NYSE:LAC) until he retired in 2019, the company said.
Zinc8 noted Hodgson had been "instrumental “in building Lithium Americas into a leading emerging lithium producer with two world class assets in Argentina and Nevada.
"Tom's wealth of experience in clean energy and technology is a tremendous asset to the Board of Directors of Zinc8," added Ron MacDonald, CEO of the company, in a statement.
"His years building a lithium-mining company to provide green energy storage provided him with a deep understanding of the energy storage market, and his history of providing strategic management and financial advice to early-stage growth companies will be invaluable as we move towards full commercialization of the Zinc8'S unique energy storage technology."

Zinc8 has developed innovative battery technology that uses zinc and air as fuel.
Energy is stored in the form of zinc particles, similar in size to grains of sand. When the system is delivering power, the zinc particles combine with oxygen drawn from the surrounding air. When the system is recharging, zinc particles are regenerated, and oxygen is returned to the surrounding air.
The system can be configured to support a wide range of microgrids and utilities. It is designed to deliver power in the range of 20kW to 50MW or more with capacity of eight hours of storage duration or higher.
