Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) has collected 275 rock chip samples along the Fairway Corridor target at the Windimurra Igneous Complex in WA.
A high proportion of the samples in the two known lepidolite areas visually contain purple micas - in other words, lepidolite - the host for rubidium and lithium.
Elevated rubidium levels
Hand-held XRF analysis in the field indicates that all but a handful of the 80 samples tested thus far appear to indicate mineralisation, with a peak rubidium reading of 1.71% and an average of 0.24%.
These are only preliminary indications ahead of wet chemistry results.
Sampling is complete at the Loop Pegmatite and the two high-priority dome areas where previous samples reported anomalous lithium and rubidium centrally located in the Fairway Corridor.
The company is confident it will also strike lithium – its previous analysis has shown that lithium presence, while not detectable with the hand-held device, usually correlates to the presence of rubidium.
Current rock chip sample locations and areas remaining to be investigated.
Fast-tracked RC drilling
Aldoro plans to analyse all the collected rock chip samples from Wyemandoo by hand, using XRF.
Rock chip field sampling helps identify areas with high-grade rubidium for subsequent RC drill targeting.
This will fast-track the work programs, allowing the company to move directly to the first phase of focused drilling, even though wet chemistry results from the laboratory are several months away.
The rock chip sampling program will continue until all of the outcropping pegmatites have been tested.
