Emmerson Resources Ltd (ASX:ERM) has enhanced the corporate skillset of its board with the appointment of experienced commercial and finance leader Alan Tate as a non-executive director.
Tate has considerable experience in the mining and energy sectors having held executive roles providing strategic, commercial, and financial leadership to a variety of international and ASX 100 companies.
Strategic appointment
Emmerson chairman Andrew McIlwain said: “Alan’s appointment to the Emmerson board is strategic at a time where the growth of our royalties portfolio is a key element in our business strategy.
“With his previous experience as CFO and Head of Strategy at Iluka Resources, including oversight of its royalty business, as well as various strategic, commercial and finance roles at BHP Billiton and WMC Resources, Alan brings to the company the requisite skills that complement the Emmerson team in the objective of delivering value from our royalty business, in addition to seeking value accretive exploration prospects.”
Notable positions
Tate's previous executive roles include with Iluka Resources, BHP Billiton and WMC. Presently, He is the chief financial officer at BGC Group.
