BATM Advanced Communications Ltd (LSE:BVC, OTC:BTAVF) won a cyber security contract worth US$3.5mln from a "long-standing government defence department customer".
The company will provide the customer with hardware and software as part of its network cyber security solution.
“In the last five months, we've been awarded over US$17mln in cyber contracts as governments resume investment in cyber solutions following the temporary diversion of resources during the pandemic,” said chief executive Zvi Marom.
“We believe we have a unique best-in-class solution, but at the same time we continue to innovate to expand the applications of our cyber products.
“We remain very excited for the prospects of our cyber business and expect further orders in the near future."
In August it advised investors full year results are expected to be significantly ahead of market expectations, driven by demand for its high-margin medical diagnostic solutions.
At that time, the provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems said it managed to grow underlying earnings (EBITDA) 325% in the first half of 2021 despite a dip in revenue.
EBITDA jumped to US$22.7mln from US$5.3mln in the first half of 2020 even after a 7.7% slide in revenue to US$71.4mln from US$77.4mln the year before. Profit before tax soared to US$19.8mln from US$1.9mln the previous year.
The Bio-Medical division accounted for 77.1% of total revenue, up from 64.6% the year before, as its turnover increased by 10.2% to US$55.1mln from US$50.0mln. The rise was driven by sales of (Coronavirus) COVID-19 diagnostic kits.
In the Networking and Cyber division, revenues tumbled to US$16.4mln from US$27.4mln the year before, largely reflecting the sale of the group's non-core NG Soft Ltd subsidiary in March 2021. Excluding NG Soft, revenue dipped to US$9.1mln from the previous year’s US$9.4mln.
