DeepVerge receives €750,000 Irish government grant to fast-track COVID-19 wastewater detection kit

It will part-fund a €1.8mln project to accelerate the design, assembly and mass production of infectious disease and pathogen detection instruments

DeepVerge PLC (AIM:DVRG) said it was awarded a €750,000 grant by state investment agency Enterprise Ireland.

It will part-fund a €1.8mln project to accelerate the design, assembly and mass production of infectious disease and pathogen detection instruments.

The Irish government-supported development programme will help create bespoke kit that is able to monitor wastewater for Coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as other threats.

DeepVerge chief executive Gerard Brandon said: "After extensive due diligence undertaken by Enterprise Ireland, we have secured their financial and global network support to accelerate mass production design to meet the demand of not just the industrial scale COVID-19 pandemic response equipment but to reduce the size and lower the cost of early warning disease monitoring equipment as part of the Digital Health Revolution.”
