Infield Minerals Corp reported encouraging findings from this year's ground geophysical survey at its wholly-owned Desperado project in Nevada, which the company said pointed to a potentially sizeable mineralized system.
The exploration group commissioned TMC Geophysics to carry out ground magnetic (MAG) and induced polarization (IP) geophysical surveys at the asset from July 24 to October 4, 2021.
The work comprised 158 line-kilometers of MAG and 88 line-kilometers of IP readings and the results have led to the identification of over 40 anomalous IP trends across the Desperado property, 12 of which have been prioritized for follow-up field investigation.
"A key takeaway from this campaign is how well the geophysical results corroborate and enhance the previous encouraging findings," said Evandra Nakano, CEO of Infield in a statement.
"With multiple datasets vectoring in the same direction, we believe we have the right ingredients for a sizeable epithermal system at Desperado. We are encouraged by these results and look forward to further refining prospective targets and advancing the property toward a drill ready status," she added.

The Desperado project covers 1,410 hectares (3,480 acres) and sits in the Ellendale mining district, around 40 kilometres (km) east of the historical Tonopah silver mining district and two km south of Highway 6.
Gold and silver mineralization at Desperado appear to be associated with silicified-sericitized rhyolite breccia and quartz veins proximal to a rhyolite-andesite contact. Using modern exploration techniques and a systematic approach, Infield is advancing Desperado toward a drill ready status.
