GR Silver Mining discovers new mineralized zones in reconnaissance drilling at its Plomosas project in Mexico

The company said the drill program is focused primarily on new areas, recognized as attractive sites for northwest or northeast trending, high-grade gold-silver mineralized veins

GR Silver Mining (TSX-V:GRSL) Ltd has announced that underground reconnaissance drilling at the San Marcial resource area of its Plomosas project in Mexico has “successfully” extended the mineralized breccia 100 meters (m) down dip, below the mineral resource boundary, and has also identified a broad sulfide-rich zone hosted by a volcano-sedimentary unit.

The company also said initial logging at the Loma Dorada area has identified a set of northeast trending quartz-sulphide veins, interpreted to connect with the San Juan area, located 1.2 kilometers (km) to the south.

“Despite a number of seasonal setbacks out of the Company's control, we have successfully advanced our reconnaissance drill program, completing 5,500m to date of the proposed 14,000m program,” GR Silver Mining (TSX-V:GRSL) CEO Marcio Fonseca said in a statement.

“We have delineated new epithermal systems in an extensive area outside of the previously announced mineral resources,” Fonseca added.

GR Silver Mining noted the drill program is focused primarily on new areas, recognized as attractive sites for northwest or northeast trending, high-grade gold-silver mineralized veins, while advancing exploration on multiple targets, ranging from resource expansion to potential new discoveries.

The company also said early-stage reconnaissance exploration at the Las Cuevas and El Ranchito areas provide additional prospects for future drilling.

It added that it is continuing with the reconnaissance drilling, testing new targets with the objective of identifying new discoveries, as well as the resource expansion underground drilling at San Marcial.

GR Silver also said it anticipates drilling and exploration productivity to increase, adding that it will release assay results in the context of each target.

GR Silver Mining's 6,574 hectare Plomosas silver project is within 5 km of the company's San Marcial silver project, in the Rosario district and is a past-producing asset, where only one mine operated from 1986 to 2001, producing about 8 million ounces of silver, 73 million pounds of lead and 28 million pounds of zinc.
