BATM wins five-year global contract for Edgility virtual networking solution

The group expects new customer e-Qual to utilise a total of 50,000-100,000 licences over the life of the agreement

BATM Advanced Communications Ltd (LSE:BVC, OTC:BTAVF) said its Edgility virtual networking solution was selected by a managed service provider to manage services with its business customers in the 55 countries in which it operates.

France-based e-Qual signed a five-year contract to use the Edgility OS and Edgility Central products for the management and orchestration (MANO) of its services.

Both products are provided under a licence model, with each endpoint requiring a licence and the group expects e-Qual to utilise a total of 50,000-100,000 licences over the life of the agreement.

Philippe de Lussy, chief executive of e-Qual, said: “Our main expertise is to deploy and run the edge networks of our business customers with a particular focus on application performance and security.

“We have been in this business for a long time, and we understand the need for a powerful MANO system.

“We selected Edgility for its superior MANO solution, which provides us with the tools we need to deploy then to manage the lifecycle of our open SD-Edge efficiently.”

BATM said as a managed service provider, e-Qual will use Edgility to enhance and enlarge their services to customers using virtual networking, with the product combining network function virtualisation (NFV) and network management in a single package.

BATM CEO Dr Zvi Marom said the contract was awarded after a competitive tender.

He added: “We are experiencing growing momentum with our Edgility offering as the extensive testing and proof-of-concepts that we have undertaken with potential customers and partners over the last year are transitioning to agreements.”
