FPX Nickel reports new testing from UBC demonstrates the potential for carbon capture in tailings

FPX Nickel CEO Martin Turenne joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company has released the results of new testing which seems to demonstrate the potential for enhanced carbon capture and storage in tailings and waste rock at its Baptiste Project.

Turenne telling Proactive these tests were done at UBC and funded in part with the Government of Canada and saw the injection of carbon dioxide as simulated flue gas can be expected to increase the ability of Baptiste tailings and waste rock to sequester CO2 and possibly become the nickel industry’s first carbon-neutral or carbon-negative operation.
