Maitri Health Technologies closes acquisition of Bloom Health and announces board members from GE and Sprint

Dr Nimisha Kalia is currently chief medical officer at GE Corporate and John Garcia is a seasoned senior executive who spent 32 years in the telecom industry, including the last 12 years of his career at Sprint

Maitri Health Technologies Corp. (CSE:MTEC) told investors it has completed the acquisition of Round Hill Health Partners, doing business as Bloom Health Partners. The company also announced two new incoming board members: Dr Nimisha Kalia and John Garcia.

Maitri, a global platform for healthcare security, said Dr Kalia is currently chief medical officer at GE Corporate. She is board-certified in internal medicine, occupational medicine, and public health and general preventive medicine, it added.

Among her many achievements, the company said Dr Kalia held academic appointments at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin.

John Garcia is a seasoned senior executive who spent 32 years in the telecom industry, including the last 12 years of his career at Sprint, where he held pivotal roles including chief marketing officer and president of wireless before his retirement.

After leaving Sprint, he engaged in several major consulting projects, including for YRC, the nation's largest less than truckload (LTL) carrier; VRide, a nationwide commuter van service augmenting local commuter services and Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, helping design and manage an integrated product development program for radio tracking of pill ingestion and vitals.

The company said current directors Hon Tony Clement and Dr Sam Pillersdorf will step down from their current board roles and join its advisory board.

"We're pleased to announce the closing of our acquisition of Bloom," Maitri CEO Andrew Morton said in a statement.

“We want to thank the Hon Tony Clement and Dr Sam Pillersdorf for the great work they've done as directors. We're thrilled that they will continue as advisors as we welcome Dr Kalia and Mr Garcia to our board of directors. Our company is well equipped to succeed as a leader in testing, health-tech and occupational health.”
