Manitou Gold Inc has reported the results from two diamond drill holes sunk at its recently discovered Bald Eagle Gold Zone (BEGZ) at the Goudreau project in Ontario, which showed impressive grades.
The two holes were step-outs drilled 100 metres (m) east-southeast of previously announced holes and one hit 19.7 grams per ton (g/t) gold over a width of 1 metre (m) starting from a depth of 25m.
A second hole showed 10.9 g/t of the yellow metal over a 0.7m length from a depth of 24.8m.
In a statement, the company noted that all six holes drilled at the BEGZ had intersected "significant" gold mineralization and that now a second rig would be mobilized in coming days to follow-up further.

On September 28 this year, the junior explorer unveiled drill results from those six holes, which included 3.3 g/t gold over 3m in one hole, including 5.2 g/t gold over 1.5m within a wider gold mineralized interval of 20.6m at 0.8 g/t gold.
Surface work in late summer this year had identified the BEGZ as a new gold zone in the northeastern portion of the Goudreau project, containing high-grade gold mineralization ranging from below detection limit up to 74.7 g/t gold, based on grab samples.
Manitou said it is also continuing to drill test high priority targets along a 10 kilometre (km) long section of the Baltimore deformation zone (BDZ) at the Goudreau project. The BDZ is extremely under-explored along its 18 km-long trend, with only 4,400m of historic gold drilling.
The Goudreau project area is home to several broad-scale deformation corridors, such as the so-called BDZ and GLDZ, which host the majority of the important regional gold deposits and showings in the region.
The GDLZ hosts Alamos Gold’s Island gold deposit and Argonaut Gold’s Magino deposit, in addition to a number of smaller-scale past-producing mines.
The Goudreau project lies 50 km northeast of Wawa, Ontario and covers around 350 square kilometres (sq km) in this re-emerging gold camp that hosts several multi-million-ounce gold deposits.
