Predictive Discovery Ltd (ASX:PDI) has received ‘highly encouraging' new assay results from its regional aircore and power auger drilling, which has identified new gold prospects at its Bankan Gold Project in Guinea.
The close proximity of these new gold results and others, to the north and west of the NE Bankan deposit, highlight the expanding potential of the Bankan Project.
Regional exploration is ongoing with aircore drilling across its 356 square kilometres Bankan Project area.
Power auger drilling will resume once the dry season commences, now expected in November.
Additional resource ounces?
Predictive Discovery managing director Paul Roberts said: “These new results provide more confirmation of the extent of gold mineralised locations in the area surrounding NE Bankan and Bankan Creek, reinforcing our strong belief that additional resource ounces will be defined in close proximity to both ore deposits as we follow up with infill and extension drilling on new gold prospects as they emerge from the aircore reconnaissance drill program."
Assay results
Highly encouraging new assays received from 49 shallow aircore holes completed within 5 kilometres of the main NE Bankan deposit and also on the Argo permit, include:
- 12 metres at 1.5 g/t gold from 12 metres, including 4 metres at 3.3 g/t from 16 metres;
- 14 metres at 3.4 g/t from 20 metres, including 2 metres at 15.2 g/t to EOH;
- 10 metres at 1.7 g/t from 12 metres, including 4 metres at 3.9 g/t from 14 metres; and
- 8 metres at 3.3 g/t from 6 metres, including 4 metres at 6.3 g/t from 6 metres.
Hole BKAC0016 was upgraded and re-released following re-assay of a plus-100 g/t result - 16 metres at 2.3 g/t from surface including 2 metres at 7.5 g/t from 2 metres; and 28 metres at 12.8 g/t from 22 metres including 6 metres at 52 g/t and including 1-metre at 110 g/t.
Bankan regional drilling
The company has deployed one aircore and two power auger rigs to follow up on the new targets with more than 10,000 metres of drilling completed in the past four months.
In the Bankan Creek area, a pair of scissor holes (BKAC0032-33) were drilled east and west respectively to test the orientation of mineralisation beneath an auger gold intercept of 4 metres at 1.7 g/t gold from 8 metres about 150 metres northwest of Bankan Creek.
Both holes intersected encouraging oxide gold mineralisation with a best result of 10 metres at 1.7 g/t from 12 metres in BKAC0032, which includes 4 metres at 3.9 g/t from 14 metres.
Further drilling is required to follow up on this and other aircore drill results.
Several regional power auger grids were completed on new exploration targets including AG3 at Argo and SA2 and SA4, before drilling was suspended due to wet ground conditions.
A total of 385 holes for 7,996 metres were completed with strong results reported.
Better results received at Argo include 16 metres at 0.8 g/t from surface in BKAU0811.
In addition, aircore hole BKAC0050 at AG3 intersected 12 metres at 0.9 g/t from 4 metres in saprolite with quartz veining.
Assessment of these targets based on these new drill results is ongoing.
