Vyant Bio (NASDAQ:VYNT) Inc has announced the appointment of Robert Fremeau as the company’s new chief scientific officer.
Vyant said Fremeau is an experienced research and development leader with over two decades of drug discovery experience in academia and industry, advancing next-generation drug development for severe neurological disorders.
“Dr Fremeau’s extensive experience with scientific research and drug discovery will be invaluable to us as we develop the preclinical and translational strategy for driving a portfolio of therapeutic candidates from early discovery to human proof-of-concept,” Vyant Bio (NASDAQ:VYNT) CEO Jay Roberts said in a statement.

“He will be instrumental in helping us to achieve our ultimate goal of building the company into a drug discovery engine that finds impactful medicines to address the needs of patients around the world,” Roberts added.
Fremeau also commented, stating: “I look forward to becoming part of the Vyant Bio team and actively participating in the further development of the company’s innovative and novel methods for determining drug efficacy and in initiating the discovery and development of new therapeutics to treat an array of neurology and oncology conditions.”
The company added that Fremeau holds numerous patents and has authored over 65 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious scientific journals including the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Journal of Neuroscience.
New Jersey-based Vyant Bio couples highly functional, complex in vitro human-based organoid platforms with advanced analytics and in vivo preclinical and regulatory expertise to bring the most promising compounds through the discovery pipeline. It incorporates patient biology early in the discovery process to identify, validate, and de-risk new targets and compounds prior to clinical trials.
