Sensyne Health PLC (AIM:SENS) said a licence and development partner received European regulatory certification for a Coronavirus (COVID-19) antigen testing system that uses Sensyne's AI-powered MagnifEye technology.
Excalibur Healthcare Services Limited’s 'Test-To-Go' system includes Excalibur’s CE-marked lateral flow test as well as a CE-marked app, which includes the MagnifEye image analysis technology that provides AI-enabled automated accurate and consistent reading of the test results.
Sensyne said it will work with Excalibur to drive adoption and use throughout the European Economic Area and the UK in the use of COVID-19 lateral flow testing across commercial and government settings.
Powered by a deep learning algorithm, MagnifEye has the ability to objectively read lateral flow tests with extremely high accuracy in less than two seconds, increasing the ability to identify positive tests, reduce fraudulent tests and support infection control efforts.
It is already being used as part of the Department of Health & Social Care's COVID-19 testing programme in the NHS and has so far read and recorded more than 1mln lateral flow antigen tests.
