There is considerable interest being generated in the role critical minerals have to play in a cleaner and greener future world and next Tuesday’s Proactive Critical Minerals Webinar will feature three ASX-listed companies operating in this space.
Presenting at the webinar on Tuesday, October 26, will be Pan Asia Metals Ltd (ASX:PAM), American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR) and Jindalee Resources Limited (ASX:JRL).
Pan Asia has lithium and tungsten interests predominantly in Thailand, American Rare Earths, as the name suggests, has rare earth projects in the US while Jindalee’s primary focus is on lithium assets in the US.
Registrations for the webinar which starts at 12 noon Sydney time (9am WA time) can be made by clicking here.
Pan Asia Metals
PAM is a critical minerals explorer and developer focused on projects in Thailand with the potential to produce value-added products in high demand in the region.
Chairman and managing director Paul Lock will outline progress on projects within the prospective Southeast Asian Tin-Tungsten Belt.
Recent activity has been centred on the Reung Kiet Lithium Project in southwest Thailand during a period of strong and improving lithium market fundamentals.

Strong results have seen the company attract considerable interest in a heavily supported share purchase plan that raised $2 million with more than $1.3 million knocked back in oversubscriptions.
This followed a $6 million private placement to institutional and sophisticated investors which was also well supported.
After the SPP, Lock said: “We are well placed to deliver projects with the potential to deliver low cost and low to zero carbon lithium products into a rapidly growing lithium-ion battery (LIB) and EV market.
“We are the only lithium explorer in Southeast Asia and we are situated in close proximity to the advanced industrial centres of Thailand and Malaysia as well as other rapidly growing LIB and EV markets in the region.”
American Rare Earths
ARR managing director Keith Middleton will discuss progress at rare earth element (REE) projects in the US as the company aims to help satisfy that country’s growing intention to establish a domestic critical minerals supply chain.
The La Paz REE-Scandium Project in Arizona is the primary focus and ARR has this year delivered an improved resource estimate. Total resource tonnage increased 33.1% to 170.6 million tonnes with an average grade of 391 ppm total REE as well as 4.4 million kilograms of scandium oxide.
This includes a 117% increase in the indicated resource which now constitutes 35.2 million tonnes of exploitable rare earth mineralisation.
There is potential to boost the resource through exploration with the company planning to drill eight diamond holes across the La Paz Southwest Project area early next year in a bid to firm up a conceptual exploration target of 742-928 million tonnes.
ARR also intends to drill 20 additional mining claims added to the project area in July 2021.
Middleton said: “In 2019 we noted that the La Paz Rare Earth Project ‘excels by its sheer volume’ to quote technical reports available and suspected there was an opportunity to develop the asset further.
“Today, we can say that the La Paz project continues to exceed our expectations and provides huge potential and future flexibility to develop the La Paz REE project.”
Jindalee Resources
JRL also has the US emphasis on critical minerals and decarbonisation firmly in its sights through lithium projects, including the advanced McDermitt Project in Oregon at which it is undertaking a scoping study.
Executive director Lindsay Dudfield will outline the company’s investment case during the webinar.
McDermitt is spread over 34 square kilometres and has the potential for long-life, low-cost mining operations.
In addition to the scoping study, drill planning is well advanced with an extensive RC and diamond program designed to upgrade and extend the current resource of 1.43 billion tonnes at 1,320 ppm lithium for 10.1 million tonnes lithium carbonate equivalent at McDermitt.
Changing global dynamics in relation to green energy, strength in the prices of lithium chemicals and strong future market fundamentals have focused attention on potential sources of future lithium supply to the EV industry, including McDermitt.

Seeking to add to its US lithium bounty, the company is undertaking a diamond drilling program at its second US property, Clayton North Lithium Project in Nevada.
This program is designed to follow up anomalous lithium results from surface sampling undertaken by Jindalee in 2018 from which results of up to 930ppm lithium were detected at the surface.
Clayton North is just 22 kilometres north of Albemarle Corporation’s Silver Peak lithium brine operation, which is the only producing lithium mining operation in the US.
