Moho Resources awarded $150,000 grant for Silver Swan North drilling

The Exploration Incentive Scheme funds will cover up to half the costs of the company’s upcoming drilling.

Moho Resources Ltd (ASX:MOH) has been awarded a grant of $150,000 to conduct exploratory drilling at its Silver Swan North Project in Western Australia.

The WA Government’s Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) administered the grant, which will cover up to half of Moho’s drilling costs.

Moho will drill-test a large, poorly drilled area of potential komatiitic ultramafics within the central eastern part of the project.

Silver Swan potential

Moho managing director Shane Sadleir said the funding would advance the company’s understanding of the Silver Swan North Project, which is prospective for nickel.

“We appreciate the WA Government’s financial assistance under the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) to advance our understanding of the geology by drill testing the nickel prospective stratigraphy at the Silver Swan North project,” he said.

“We are looking forward to implementing this exciting phase of nickel exploration very shortly.”

Drilling details

The grant covers up to 50% of drilling costs associated with the planned reverse circulation and diamond drilling program, and will provide a comprehensive section of the geology, and is due to kick off in November.

Ten holes will be drilled between 200 and 400 metres deep, with approximately 33% of drilling to be cored.

Two holes are planned to test the electromagnetic conductor at the Omrah nickel target.

Nickel sulphide potential

Moho has pinpointed three highly prospective nickel targets that warrant further exploration at Silver Swan North.

The Omrah, Wise and Dukes targets represent three distinct nickel exploration opportunities, uncovered following a historical data review over the 55-square-kilometre nickel asset.

Featuring an untested electromagnetic conductor, prospective nickel lithologies and anomalous levels of nickel in soil, the ASX-lister’s newest exploration targets present a wide range of follow-up opportunities at Silver Swan North.
