QC Copper and Gold unveils plans for upcoming 6,000 metre drill campaign at Opemiska

The planned 6,000-metre program will act as a precursor to a much larger campaign, according to QC

QC Copper and Gold Inc announced it is set to restart drilling on its flagship Opemiska property in the Abitibi region of Quebec.

The planned 6,000-metre program will act as a precursor to a much larger campaign, according to the Toronto-based junior resource firm.

Drilling will focus on confirming the orientation of mineralized structure around the open pit, with particular attention being paid to the Saddle Zone and Eastern Veins, QC told shareholders.

Targets include the Saddle Zone, the Eastern Veins, Perry Mine at depth, and the Beaver Lake Fault corridor, including the Cooke and Robitaille Mines.

The areas are considered “very likely” by QC to augment the existing inventory of resources at Opemiska, it said in a statement, adding that it is currently designing this drill program and its logistics.

"All the planned drilling in the coming 12 months is meant to expand the resource base at Opemiska as much as possible in anticipation of a new mineral resource estimate and a pivot towards project development,” CEO Stephen Stewart told investors.

“Once we are satisfied that we have tested all the immediate potential, we will shift gears and towards a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) and beyond. This is a large and highly prospective land package, which we plan to continue exploring even once the project enters the development pipeline."

The program is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
