Semper Fortis Esports looking forward to new season with new signings

Cash at the bank as of 31 July 2021 was £1.77mln, up from £73,158 at the end of January, after the company listed on AQSE in April

Semper Fortis Esports PLC (AQSE:SEMP) said it made good progress with its strategy in the six months to the end of July.

The company, which listed on the AQSE market in April, established its first esports team and formed brand and technology partnerships.

The first esports team, SMPR, finished third in the Rocket League Championship Series, a Tier 2 professional international esports tournament, dedicated to the popular Rocket League game, which involves competing teams using rocket-powered vehicles to hit a ball into the opposing team's goal.

In the close season, the team was strengthened by the signing of a new player, Thibault Grzesiak, who goes by the name Chausette. He started his career in 2015 and has a current following of around 100,000 across his social media accounts.

Since the end of July, the company has secured players to compete in two new Esports (FIFA and Hearthstone) and a player who competes in the play to earn crypto game, Axie Infinity.

Meanwhile, the number of the group’s online followers on Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn rose to 124,000 at the end of September from 7,400 at the end of July.

The half-year reporting period saw operating and administrative expenses edge up to £651,287 from £626,173 the year before. The group earned no revenue in the period.

Cash at the bank as of 31 July 2021 was £1.77mln, up from £73,158 at the end of January.

" We look forward to the new season in Rocket League and building on the previous successes of our SMPR team as well as increasing engagement with our followers and continuing to grow our overall audience reach through the combined platforms of Semper, its pro-players, content creators and ambassadors which now amounts to 11.3 million,” said Keith Harris, the chairman of Semper Fortis Esports.
